This Alden 40 motor yacht had large areas of failed and cracked gelcoat, mostly at the radius surfaces between the side decks and house side. Our crew ground off the failed gelcoat to discover failed and fractured fiberglass laminate. The laminate was ground off and new glass applied. The repair areas were then faired with putty, and high-build primer was sprayed over these areas. The high-build primer was prepped, and the entire deck and house surfaces were sprayed with grey-finish primer.

We then applied new gloss white paint to all surfaces and taped it off for spray application of the non-skid paint. With the deck restoration work completed, we applied two maintenance coats of varnish to the woodwork.
