Marine Mechanic / Systems Technician:

Maine Yacht Center is currently seeking a marine mechanic/systems technician for a F/T, YR position. A strong, high quality work ethic, cleanliness and positive attitude are important. Working knowledge and experience in diesel engines and all aspects of yacht systems, including plumbing, sanitation, refrigeration/air-conditioning, AC/DC electrical onboard both power and sailing vessels up to 75' is required. Five years of experience is necessary and ABYC certifications are a plus.

Candidate must be a self-starter, able to manage projects on their own and communicate directly with customers. Position requires that you are in good physical condition and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Yard Crew / EQUIPMENT OPERATOR TRAINEE:

Maine Yacht Center is currently seeking yard crew for a F/T, YR position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: power washing, sanding and bottom painting, waxing, detailing, boat cleaning, assisting with boat hauling/launching and blocking, shrink wrap, etc. Must be able to work from staging.

Job requires that you are in good physical condition, able to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively, have a strong work ethic and attention to detail. Some experience necessary in similar work type but will train the right candidate.

Candidate will gain experience in the safe operation of boat yard equipment, especially hydraulic trailer operation and the hauling, blocking/standing and launching of a wide variety of boats, both power and sail, up to 65’.

Candidate will work outdoors in all weather.

We are looking for a person with a positive attitude, who is both energetic and motivated. Must be a self starter and be able to work well with a team. We promote from within.

Varnish Technician:

Working knowledge and experience required applying a variety of marine varnish products by brush application. Including: stripping finishes to bare wood and building up with new varnish as well as maintenance coats of varnish to surfaces in good condition. Working knowledge and experience applying a variety of marine paint products by brush application helpful but not necessary.

Must be able to work from staging. Job requires that you are in good physical condition, able to lift up to 50 lbs. Strong work ethic and attention to detail are required.
